How to Play GuessIt
Ask, eliminate, and guess the secret before your opponent does.
🎯The Goal
Be the first player to correctly guess your opponent's secret card. You narrow the possibilities by asking yes / no questions and eliminating impossible candidates from your board. A correct guess wins the round; a wrong guess loses it.

Choose a Secret
Each player secretly picks one card from the shared content pack. Your opponent has to guess it — and you have to guess theirs.

Take Turns
Player 1 asks first, then turns alternate. Each action — asking a question or making a guess — must happen within 30 seconds.

Pick a Question Card
On your turn, choose from a hand of 4–6 smart yes/no question cards. Each card shows how many candidates it could eliminate on a yes or a no.

Get the Answer
Your opponent answers Yes, No, or Not Applicable based on their secret. The answer appears as a colored speech bubble.

Cross Out Cards
Candidates on your board that contradict the answer are struck through with a red marker and greyed out. Keep narrowing the field.

Make Your Guess
When you think you know the secret, skip the question and guess the card outright. Correct = you win. Wrong = you lose.

Beat the 30s Timer
Every action is timed. If your 30-second clock runs out, the turn auto-forfeits to your opponent — so think fast.
🃏Question Cards
In Bot Mode(and Multiplayer), you don't type questions free-form. Instead you're dealt a hand of 4–6 question cards, each a pre-written yes/no question like "Is it an island?" or "Is it larger than a human?". Each card shows an elimination estimate— roughly how many candidates it would remove on a yes or a no. Pick the card that splits the remaining field most evenly, and you'll narrow the secret fastest.
Cards are generated fresh every turn based on which candidates are still in play, so your hand always feels relevant.
📊Efficiency Scoring
After every question, GuessIt rates how sharp your pick was. The score is the percentage of remaining candidates your question eliminated:
Excellent — that question eliminated half the field or more.
Good — solid narrowing, keep going.
OK — small dent, try a sharper question next.
Bad — barely moved the needle. Pick a different angle.
High-efficiency questions earn bonus XP. String enough of them together and your hot streak grows.
